Canon Digital IXUS i7 Zoom Review

The Canon IXUS i7 Zoom operates with 7.1 megapixels and a combined total of 10x zoom (2.4x optical / 4x digital) and DIGIC II with iSAPS technology.

Images can be viewed on the 1.8" P-Si TFT monitor which gives approximately 100% coverage and has brightness adjustment. Still images are stored as JPEG (Exif 2.2), DCF, DPOF and movies as AVI (Motion JPEG + WAVE monaural).

Movies can be shot as 640 x 480 (30/15 fps), 320 x 240 (60/30/15 fps) and 160 x 120 (15 fps). The Canon IXUS i7 Zoom uses SD, SDHC and MMC memory card and is operated using a rechargeable Li-ion battery NB-4L - battery, camera station supplied. Battery life is approximately 190 shots / 300 min playback.

The IXUS i7 Zoom has a selection of preset scene modes where settings have already been chosen to suit particular situations and these include: indoor, kids & pets, snow, beach, fireworks and underwater together with other modes such as auto/manual, landscape, portrait and night. The Canon IXUS i7 Zoom also has AiAF (Face Detection / 9 point) and My Colors offers choices such as neutral, black & white, sepia and vivid.

ISO sensitivity has auto, High ISO Auto, 80/100/200/400/800/1600, White Balance has auto, daylight, cloudy,32 fluorescents, tungsten and custom and there is a built in flash with auto, manual, flash on/off, slow sync and red-eye reduction.

The Canon IXUS i7 Zoom is PictBridge compatible.
