Canon EOS 1D Mark II Review

The Canon EOS 1D Mark II sets the standard in professional photography, it is built to cope with extreme conditions and powerful enough to perform a 110 frame burst at 10fps. The magnesium body is both moisture and dust resistant with the EOS integrated cleaning systems offering a system that reduces, repels and removes dust.

The 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor ensures excellent results with high quality colour whilst the dual DIGIC III processors produce almost instant response times and start-up only takes 0.2 milliseconds.

The Picture Style presets help you control image processing as sharpness, colour tone, saturation and contrast can be adjusted. Off-centre subjects can be achieved successfully as the high precision wide-area AF uses 19 cross type points.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark II has a Pentaprism viewfinder and a large 3" TFT LCD with a Live View mode; brightness is adjustable and field of view is approximately 100%. Still images are stored as JPEG / Exif 2.21/DCF and DPOF and can be displayed as single image with information, single image, 4 image index, 9 image index and magnified. ISO equivalents are between 100 - 3200 (expandable to L:50 H:6400) and White Balance choices are auto, shade, cloudy, daylight, white fluorescent, tungsten, flash, custom (5 settings can be registered), colour temperature and personal WB.

The Li-ion battery pack LP-E4 supplied with the EOS 1D Mark II has an approximate battery life of between 1700 and 2200 and power will turn off after 1,2,4,8,15 or 30 minutes.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark II is PictBridge compatible.
