Canon EOS 400D Review

Consistently producing crisp, clean images, the Canon EOS 400D provides endless possibilities with its 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and Integrated Cleaning System.

CMOS is speedy and uses power efficiently, is super sensitive in low light and virtually noise free. The Integrated Cleaning System ensures that the CMOS remains clean as it provides a dust prevention and cleaning system and by using the DIGIC II the EOS 400D is ready instantly (0.2 second start up) whilst reproducing colours that are true to life.

The Canon EOS 400D has ISO equivalents in auto (100 - 400) and in 100/200/400/800/1600 with White Balance settings as auto, daylight, cloudy, shade, fluorescent, flash, custom and tungsten. White Balance bracketing offers the selection of blue/amber or magenta/green bias.

Images can be viewed on the super bright 2.5" LCD which has a viewing angle of 160 degrees for easy checking and sharing, the viewfinder is an eye-level SLR with pentamirror giving approximately 95% coverage. Viewfinder offers information, for example on AF, exposure and ISO. The high precision 9-point wide-area AF gives fast and accurate focusing even when the subject is off-centre.

On the EOS 400D the Picture Style presets allow you to change to different colour formats. Other preset modes include auto, portrait, landscape, sports, night and close-up with flash modes including auto, manual on/off and red-eye reduction.

The Canon EOS 400D is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery which has a life of between 280 and 360 shots depending on shooting conditions.

Other features include DPP RAW image processing software, EF/EF-S lens and EX Speedlite flash compatible, PictBridge compatible, compact and lightweight and shoots at 3fps with up to 27 frame burst.

I love this camera it's mt first digital SLR, although I have used a few Cannon EOS 35mm cameras. Functions are great it is as easy if not easier to use as the 35mm. I'm really pleased with this camera.
