Canon PowerShot A460 Review

The Canon PowerShot A460 is a portable, stylish, easy to use camera which comes in a choice of three colours, silver, red and blue.

With 5 megapixel sensor, 4x optical and 4x digital zoom (totalling 16x magnification) the Canon PowerShot A460 produces quality, precise pictures that are suitable for enlarging without any loss of detail.

Other major features include - Canon's advanced DIGIC II processor which delivers fast performance, iSAPS technology optimising settings before the shot is taken, 5-point AiAF to ensure that the whole picture is clear and Super Macro mode to give appropriate focus even as near as 1cm.

ISO sensitivity includes auto/80/100/200/400, White Balance offers auto, cloudy, daylight, fluorescents, tungsten and custom and there is a built-in flash with auto, manual flash on/off. Images are stored as JPEG (Exif 2.2), DCF, DPOF and AVI (Motion JPEG), WAVE (monaural) and the Canon A460 has a real-image zoom optical viewfinder and a 2" TFT monitor giving approximately 100% field of view.

The Canon A460 has 12 shooting modes available which include special scene modes to ensure that the perfect shot is taken, these include; portrait, night, kids and pets, indoor, foliage, fireworks, beach and snow. In-camera photo effects can also be applied such as vivid, neutral, black & white, sepia and custom colour.

2x AA alkaline or NiMH batteries can be used to power the PowerShot A460. The alkaline batteries supplied give a battery life of approximately 120 shots and if optional Canon NB-3AH batteries are used the life will increase to approximately 400 shots.

The Canon PowerShot A460 is PictBridge compatible.
