Canon PowerShot A530 Review
Whether you want close up, normal or long distance the 4x zoom lens within the Canon PowerShot A530,combined with the digital zoom, gives 16x magnification and covers all situations without any loss of quality.
The 5 megapixel CCD sensor in the PowerShot A530 means that you won't miss out on any of the detail even when developing large prints.
There are seventeen shooting modes available including nine special scene modes together with the My Colours feature. These open up a wide range of possibilities for both beginners and those with more experience. Beach, foliage and snow are amongst the scene modes whilst the My Colors feature allows you to adjust colours to suit your ideas.
The A530 has a 1.8" LCD screen on which to view images and this also has a grid line display to help set up your overall picture. All functions and processing within the A530 is carried out at high speed because it incorporates the Canon DIGIC II image processor. This means more accuracy and an extension to your battery life.
Another notable feature of the PowerShot A530 is the ISO 800 setting. This gives accurate exposure to your shot whether in daylight or low light conditions. Also because this operates at high speed it can reduce the risk of blurring due to higher shutter speeds.
It is possible to also produce long VGA quality audio movies on the A530 which can be viewed on the screen or through a television or computer.
Connection to any PictBridge or Canon Direct Print compatible printer will allow you to produce quality prints quickly.
If CANON iMAGE GATEWAY is available to you then this provides you with 100MB of web space via which you can share with family and friends.

Well worth buying, capable of producing excellent pics. Easy to use, small enough to carry on your person but would suggest also carrying some spare batteries.

This camera has given me a lot for my money and I would recommend it for both beginners and for those of you who have already have some experience.
I am a beginner and I have found it so easy to use, even with all the features that are available I have not been phased yet.
As well as taking great pictures, I have also made a short video which I played back on my TV screen - how cool is that.
Lots more fun to come.

This is yet another great Canon camera and what I like most about it is:
- works with 2 AA batteries
- simple button operation
- takes excellent pictures
- not too expensive
Only criticism so far is that it has a slow flash recycle time.
A good buy.

I was looking for a 5 megapixel camera that wouldn't be too expensive and a colleague (with some experience) suggested the A530 so I bought one. Found I could use it almost immediately as it was so simple to operate and the image quality is superb. It is so easy to print. It felt comfortable to work with and runs off AA batteries which is very handy. Good package for the cost.
