Casio Exilim Card EX-S600 Review

The Casio Exilim Card EX-S600 is available in silver, orange and blue. This camera has an all metal body and even though it is extremely thin it contains high technology.

With 6 megapixels, 3x optical and 4x digital zoom, the Casio Exilim Card EX-S600 can produce high resolution photographs and movies which are of TV quality. A lens cover is included within the package.

The Exilim EX-S600 is quick to power up and has high speed image playback, it can scroll 100 images in 10 secs, and is powered by a super life rechargeable lithium-ion battery. As well as recording still image, voice or still image with audio the Casio EX-S600 takes AVI (MPEG-4) movies, length of movie being dependent upon memory (there is a card slot for SD/MMC) and battery life. Movie editing can also be carried out on camera.

The EX-S600 has a range of focus selections including auto, AF assist light, pan, macro, infinity and manual with a ranges of; normal from 40 cm, manual from 15cm and macro from 15 - 50cm. White balance has six automatic modes and manual and the maximum ISO sensitivity when using anti-shake or high sensitivity is 1600. For still images ISO can be achieved automatically or manually from ISO 50 to ISO 400.

The flash system within the Casio Exilim Card EX-S600 offers auto, flash on, flash off and red-eye reduction and has a wide range of 0.4 to 2.8m and tele to 1.4m.

Images can be viewed on the 2.2" digital TFT colour LCD. There are a selection of playback functions that can be selected such as calendar, image roulette, slideshow, movie, rotate or through your favourites folder. The Casio EX-S600 can also print stills from movies.

The camera is quick to power up and takes great pictures and I appreciate that a lens cover was included in the package as I have always felt that this needs good protection. It is a very small camera, I can even slip it into my shirt pocket, and surprisingly the LCD on the reverse works well and gives a clear view of images. Have also taken a movie and the anti shake was good to have.

Although so small, this camera is sturdy and feels great to use. It is quick to power up (under two seconds) so I don't miss much and it takes great pictures.

It has enough manual features for me and I do like the fact that there are so many preset scene modes for me to choose from. Good value
