Casio Exilim Card EX-S880 Review

The Casio Exilim Card EX-S880, although compact, takes high resolution photographs and has a high quality movie function that can produce widescreen TV quality video.

One of its more innovative functions is the new YouTube mode which attains movies of the quality suitable for uploading onto YouTube. A software application is included within the package which makes it quick and easy to upload.

Having 8.29 megapixel, 3x optical and 4x digital zoom (12x when combined), the Casio EX-S880 produces an excellent variety of scenarios. There are 6 lenses in 5 groups, including aspheric lens. Still image is recorded as JPEG (Exif Ver 2.2) DCF standard, DPOF compliant and movie as H.264/AVC.MOV with WAV. Available modes include: still image, still with audio, movie with audio, and BEST SHOT with 39 different scene choices. The Casio Exilim EX-S880 is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (NP20) giving approximately 220 images with playback of approximately 4 hours and continuous recording of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. There is also a card slot which will take SD/SDHC/MMC/MMCplus.

The Casio Exilim Card EX-S880 has a built in flash, White Balance of auto, manual and a choice of 6 modes, and ISO sensitivity of auto, 64/100/200/400/800. The Anti shake feature which compensates for camera shake due to moving objects or unsteady hands operates at ISO800. Focus modes include; auto, macro, pan, infinity and manual with focus ranges of normal, macro and manual. There is also an AF assist light.

Images are viewed and played back on the super bright 2.8" widescreen digital TFT colour LCD with playback functions such as; still image, movie, slideshow, 12 image display, calendar, copy and a favourites folder.

The Casio EX-S880 is 94.5 x 60.4 x 17.3mm and weighs approximately 128g without batteries. The camera comes with a variety of accessories including; AV cable, AC adaptor and power cord, USB cradle, USB cable, wrist strp and 2xCD ROM.
