Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000 Review

The Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000 is very compact in size but does not lack in quality of design or features. This powerful camera has 10 megapixels powered by a high resolution CCD and produces high quality, clear photographs whether zooming, cropping or printing poster size.

Images can be viewed on the 2.8" widescreen LCD the brightness of which allows easy viewing even in bright outdoor conditions. The screen also allows simultaneous viewing of wide angle and telephoto shots.

The ISO on the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000 provides 50/100/200/400, automatic or manual with anti-shake at 800 and high sensitivity at 3200 for movies. The anti shake reduces blurring when shots are taken of moving subjects or when hand shake is present.

There is a combined total of 12x zoom with the Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000, 3x optical and 4x digital and the Casio EX-Z1000 is ready to shoot approximately 1.8 secs after start up. Shutter release lag time is 0.002 secs and 100 images can be scrolled in 10 secs with the high speed image playback.

White balance options are available, six modes in automatic and manual mode and flash options are; auto, on, off, high power, soft and with red-eye reduction.

Focusing selections within the Exilim EX-Z1000 cover manual, contrast AF, infinity, auto and macro. with AF assist light and pan focus for video. Focus ranges are; manual from 6cm, normal from 40cm and macro from 6cm.

Movies with audio can be shot using the EX-Z1000 and the camera is powered by a super life rechrgeable lithium-ion battery (NP-40). AC adaptor is also included.

This is quite a camera, it is very easy to use and I have printed off some great quality photos. The biggest plus for me is the very large LCD screen on which I can so easily see my shot to be taken, or playbacks. I think that this is possibly the largest screen available in this type of camera. I also found that the flash in this camera is better than I have had previously as its range is virtually what it says it will be. Would recommend this as being one of the best compact digital cameras available.

This is a great camera to use and the highlights for me are: huge LCD screen, quality of photos and long life of battery (saves me carrying a spare).

It also has 10 megapixels so, even though small enough to put in your pocket, no reduction in technology.

Flash is also good and the red-eye mode does make a difference.

Don't think anyone would be disappointed with this one.
