Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1200 Review
The Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1200 has an outstanding 12.1 effective megapixels and, although compact, shoots super high resolution images in very clear detail that can be cropped or enlarged with no deterioration in the quality of the image.ISO sensitivity in still image is 50/100/200/400 - automatic or manual switching - and in movie is auto. Maximum ISO is 800 with Anti Shake or 3200 with high sensitivity BESTSHOT modes.
The Casio EX-Z1200 has 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom giving 12x when used in combination and there are 7 lenses in 5 groups, including aspherical lens. Focus modes include: macro, manual, pan (video only), infinity, auto and AF assist light with ranges of normal, macro and manual. Still image format is JPEG (Exif 2.2), DCF standard, DPOF compliant and movie is H.264/AVC. Images are stored in the built-in internal flash memory of approximately 11.4MB or on SD/MMC memory card and recording modes include still image with audio, movie with audio, still image, voice recorder and 34 preselected scenarios in BESTSHOT.
The SuperBright widescreen 2.8" digital TFT colour LCD acts as viewfinder and playback with playback functions of calendar, 9 image display, favourites, slideshow, movie, still image, reverse, rotate and trimming and resize. Wide angle and telephoto shots can be viewed simultaneously. The Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 is powered by a proprietary Super Life rechargeable lithium-ion battery (NP-40) which, in continuous playback, has an approximate life of just over 8 hours.
The Casio EX-Z1200 measures 93.3 x 58.5 x 22.4mm and weighs approximately 152g excluding batteries and accessories.
