The Fuji FinePix F47fd is an advanced compact digital camera delivering quality images that can be cropped or printed in large size without any loss of quality. Having 9.03MP, 3x optical zoom and 7.6 digital zoom together with Fuji's Real Photo Technology, the Fuji FinePix F47fd produces images that have a wealth of colour, are very detailed and precise. The Fuji F47fd also features Real Photo Processor II and super CCD HR VI which has a larger surface area than normal and is therefore more sensitive to light.

Face Detection technology means that the Fuji F47fd can react very quickly to varying light conditions and will pick out the face in the frame and ensure focus, exposure and flash are adusted to compensate.

A high ISO of 2000 can be reached in addition to the range of auto/100/200/400/800/1600, White Balance has automatic scene recognition and presets of shade, fluorescents, fine, incandescent and custom. The Fuji F47fd has an Intelligent Flash system which studies the scene and automatically controls the power output thus giving a balanced exposure, flash ranges are auto, red-eye reduction, suppressed, forced, slow synchro and slow synchro with red-eye reduction.

The Fuji F47fd has an internal memory of 25MB and is powered by NP-70 rechargeable battery. The camera also features an xD/SD compatible slot so that you can use either xD Picture Card or SD media to store your pictures which means that you will be able to use cards you already have or those that will be compatible with whatever media you are using in your laptop, etc.

Images can be viewed on the 2.5" LCD screen that has an anti-reflective coating, preventing glare when shooting. Playback of images can be as slide show, multi frame, image rotation, date order and can be trimmed.

This camera is very easy to use as there is a mode dial offering preset selections where shutter speed, exposure and white balance have been selected to suit particular situations. These include, snow, close-up, night, underwater, portrait, landscape, fireworks, beach and party. Colour mode choices are standard, black & white and chrome.

Movies with monoaural sound, AVI format (Motion JPEG), can be taken with the Fuji FinePix F47fd at 30fps - 640 x 480/320 x 240. Still images are JPEG (Exif Ver 2.2). The new Infra Red allows you to make wireless transfers of images from camera to camera, to IR portable printers or to kiosks in stores.

The dimensions of the FinePix F47fd are 95.6mm (W) x 59mm (H) and 23.3mm (D) and it weighs approximately l8lg excluding battery and memory card.

The camera seems to be a very good quality, combined with lots of features such as stability, real picture technology and etc. I used a lot of brands such as Casio, Kodak and Samsung but I found fuji is the best between them.

Takes a bit of time to get the best out of the camera. The auto mode is usually not the best moide to shoot in. So spend some time with the presets and the manual modes and you will get great pictures out of it

Easy to use camera with lots of features for the price. However, I find the image quality very poor, they look OK on the screen but when you get them on the computer and print, images are definately blured. My old Fuji 2MP gives better quality pictures
