Fuji FinePix S8000FD Review

The single built-in lens of the Fuji FinePix S8000fd saves time as lens changes do not have to be made and being high quality Fujinon 18x zoom lens, this camera is capable of shooting many different scenes. Digital zoom is 5x and with 8 megapixels, photos can be enlarged without any deterioration in quality or detail.

Focus range is normal, macro and super macro with the wide end giving 27mm wide-angle perspective allowing group portraits and landscapes to be easily taken. Focus distances are normal, macro and super macro from 70 cm upwards and focus modes include auto, manual, continuous AF with AF assist illuminator.

Images are stored as JPEG (Exif Ver 2.2) and movies as AVI (motion JPEG) with sound, WAVE. The Fuji S8000fd has an internal memory of approximately 58MB and can take xD-Picture Card, SD/SDHC memory cards.

ISO sensitivity equivalents are auto, auto1600/auto800/auto400 which equate to ISO 64/100/200/400/800/1600/3200/6400. White Balance has auto scene recognition, fluorescents, incandescent, custom and preset and flash is auto with flash modes of red-eye removal off/on, auto, slow syncro, forced flash and suppressed flash. There are various shooting modes including preset scenarios such as portrait, landscape, night, sunset, snow, fireworks, sport, beach, party, and flower.

The Fuji FinePix S8000fd has an electronic viewfinder and 2.5" polysilicon TFT colour LCD monitor with approximately 97% coverage. Playback choices include; slide show, face detection, rotation, sort by date, scrap book view slide show, single frame and trimming. Video output is NTSC/PAL selectable.

The Fuji FinePix S8000fd is powered by 4x AA alkaline batteries and weighs (without batteries) approximately 410g. Dimensions are 111.3 x 78.2 x 79.3mm.
