Fuji FinePix Z1 Zoom Review
The Fuji Finepix Z1 Zoom will fit into pocket or handbag and has a generous 2.5" reinforced glass LCD monitor which is well able to stand wear and tear. The LCD has an automatic brightness function.
Even though small, the Finepix Z1 Zoom has 5.1 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and 5.7x digital zoom. The zoom lens has a refractive, non-extending design which produces 3x optical zoom without any visible movement on the camera.
With a start up time of 0.6 seconds, minimal shutter lag of 0.01 seconds and a shooting interval of 1.1 seconds between frames, the Finepix Z1 is ready whenever you are.
The Fuji Finepix Z1 houses a Super CCD HR sensor and Real Photo Processor which ensures that images, even when taken in low light conditions, are of high quality. By selecting the Natural Light mode, the flash will not operate and the camera will produce clear images again and again.
Sensitivity to ISO 64 - 800 can be attained with white balance coming under auto or manual. Manual mode gives various options such as various fluorescents, incandescent, shade and fine.
There is a choice of three colour modes in the Finepix Z1, black and white, standard and chrome together with a selection of shooting modes including, auto, manual, macro and movie - landscape, portrait, sport, night.
Although very compact, the Fuji Z1 is also able to produce TV quality VGA with sound movies at 30fps.
Included within the Finepix Z1 package is an NP-40 Li-on battery, NP-40 charger/cradle and AC-5V power adaptor. A Li-on rechargeable battery and batter charger are available as optional accessories.
The Z1 is PictBridge compatible allowing for direct printing.

Paid £150 took it back after a day was unconvinced with picture quality. some macro shots were o.k. but had to correct most pictures on computer mainly sharpness. Looks great bit small for big hands, nice size screen, docking station to fiddly, easy menus. easy to fit in pockets but not for me. Going to try f11 if no luck going to stick with canon. Had S30 before super camera but wanted bigger screen and more pixels.

Thought I was getting just what I wanted as it promised everything I was looking for. Unfortunately, although it does have its good points, I have found that my pictures are blurry compared with previous cameras that I have used.

This camera takes better videos than it does photographs. It is easy to use, lightweight and small in size and from that point of view is good value, it is just a pity about the lack of picture quality.

Compact, easy to use and has a lovely clear big screen for me to view my images. It also turns on pretty quickly so I rarely miss a moment.

Not a very good camera as its very small and not that easy to use. OK if not taking a really good shot as you can not hold it that steady.

I was looking forward to this one being released and have enjoyed using it to date.
It feels good to hold, is easy to use and its size is convenient as I can take it around with me all the time. It is ready to use really quickly and the large screen makes it so easy to view the images.
The choice of colour modes also means that I can produce some quite interesting pictures.

This camera is ok but a bit on the small side. It does take good photos. It is good that you can put your photos on the computer.

Really Small camera which is why I got it, as I go backpacking so need a light camera to take with me. The Z1 takes great photos.

I am disappointed with my Z1 as, no matter what the lighting conditions are, I have not managed to take a 100% decent photo. Colours are not brilliant and the image is slightly blurry.
Wish I had bought another model.
