Kodak EasyShare M753 - UK Digital Camera Review

Kodak EasyShare M753 Review

The compact Kodak EasyShare M753 zoom digital camera has 7MP CCD and the Kodak 3x optical aspheric lens with 3x optical and 5x continuous digital zoom means that you can get close to your subject and take a clear and precise shot. Prints can be produced up to 20" x 30" without any loss of quality.

The Kodak EasyShare M753 has a focus range of auto, macro wide, macro tele and landscape, ISO sensitivity of 80-200 in auto and 80/100/200/400/800/1250 as selectable, White Balance modes are auto with tungsten, fluorescent, open shade and daylight as selectable. Flash modes are auto, red-eye, off and fill.

The higher ISO sensitivity of 1250 means that better results can be achieved when shooting in low light conditions. The digital image stabilisation mode reduces blurring that can be caused by camera shake and subject movement.

There is a choice of scene modes where relevant settings have been preselected and these include landscape, portrait, sunset, panorama, night, beach, fireworks, snow, sports and children. Colour modes offer high/natural/low, black and white and sepia.

The Kodak M753 comes with a Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery KLIC-7001, has 16MB internal memory and a SD/MMC card expansion slot. Images are stored as JPEG/Exif 2.21 and can be viewed on the 2.5" high resolution LCD as album, edit, multi-up, slideshow, protect, set up and image storage as well as all being the same way up. It is also possible to combine up to three shots into one large picture using the panorama stitch mode. Editing can be carried out (crop/undo/delete) using the Kodak Perfect Touch technology.

Videos can be easily shot in QuickTime MOV (MPEG4) format with audio as VGA (640 x 480) at 15fps and QVGA (320 x 240) at 30fps, continuous recording time is based on memory capacity. Extra video can be shot by using less memory with MPEG-4 compression.

Favourite pictures can be stored using the favourites feature and without using up internal memory. If you want to share pictures with others this can be done by using the on-camera share button, tagging the image so that it will be ready to print or e-mail later. The software package included with the EasyShare M753 has a Guide to Getting Started.

The Kodak EasyShare M753 is easy to carry around as its dimensions are 3.7W x 2.9H x 0.9D (93 x 58 x 23mm) and, without battery and memory card, it weighs 4.1oz (115g).

This camera is the best Kodak has to date on the small camera scene compact or subcompact. It is loaded with features found on cameras paying almost double the price. You cannot find a camera that is packed with features likefor example, digital stabilization in the under $150.00 range. It has excellent scene modes its user friendly, ultra compact, great speed and dynamite pictures and it has a CCD lens. I was looking to buy a Cannon Elph, Sony DSC55, Casio Exilim or Olympus but i would never have thought Kodak would compete in this Ultra compact market. Previous to this I thought of kodak as a good budget firt timers camera. I rate this camera very highly.
Buy it you can always bring it back. but you wont............
