Kodak EasyShare M853 Review

The Kodak EasyShare M853, measuring 3.7W x 2.9H x 0.9D, is lightweight, compact, comes in stylish colours and has many great features. Kodak picture quality is excellent and with 8.2MP you can print images up to 30" x 40" without any deterioration in quality.

The Kodak EasyShare M853 is simple to use and with 3x optical and 5x digital zoom you can come close to your subject and capture detailed quality shots. The AF 3X optical aspheric lens has built in lens protection and digital image stabilisation compensates for blurriness caused by camera shake or subject movement.

The Kodak M853 has ISO sensitivity of 80-200 auto and 80/100/200/400/800/1250 selectable in manual, the higher 1250 with faster shutter speeds means that shots an be taken successfully in low light conditions. White balance choices are auto or selectable of daylight, fluorescent, tungsten and open shade and the flash feature offers auto, red-eye, fill and off. The Kodak M853 has auto focus, and a focus range of macro, macro tele and landscape.

The Kodak EasyShare M853 comes with Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery KLIC-7001 and has an internal memory of 16MB, it is also compatible with SD/MMC card. Images are stored as JPEG/Exif 2.21 and can be viewed on the 2.5" high resolution LCD, whether they have been taken horizontally or vertically, you will be able to view them all the right way up. Playback features include album, slideshow, multi-up and edit. Video is simple to shoot and continuous GA video (640 x 480) can be recorded at 15fps with sound with continuous shooting based on memory capacity. There is also an on-camera editing feature.

A choice of colour modes is available such as black and white, high/natural/low and sepia and there is a choice of special scene features where optimum settings have been preselected and these include; portrait, landscape, night, fireworks, beach, sports, children, panorama and candlelight. It is also possible to combine up to 3 images into one photo using the panorama stitch mode.

If you wish to share your pictures with others, the EasyShare M853 makes this simple to do starting with the on-camera share button. Your chosen picture should be tagged using this button and it will then be ready to print or send by e-mail. Easyshare software provides you with a Getting Started Guide to help you on your way.
