While this camera type isn't a Digital SLR due to its fixed lens, don't let this fool you into thinking it wont have some good features built within.
For starters the picture quality is astonishing & colours are mere perfect!
This camera has served me well and although I no longer use this camera it's perfect for beginners wanting to have the feel and functions as the big boys toys have.
The camera is very easy to use and has several modes and functions, very good macro mode which in my eyes couldn't be any better, optical zoom is fine but digital is a bit sluggish and I don't recommend using digital anyways!
I found this camera best suited for Macro and on-stand shots, Auto focus can be very stupid at times and sometimes had me thinking it was locked onto a close object where as it was miles of!
Trigger response is rubbish and I don't recommend taking this camera to take shots that require almost instant shots as the white balance seemed to try and get in the way and the camera was unaware if it was being pressed instantly rather than halfway, yes its about a 2sec delay but that's to much if a sudden amazing shot was needed!
Biggest let down to me was the cycle shots that could be taken in a string! Way to slow and to dark to make out any moving images!
Big bonus to this camera is that it has programmable buttons that even some Digital SLR's don’t have!
You may see many bad points here but overall it's a well-recommended camera for the beginner and I would buy it if I were in that situation again!

This is a camera with an excellent wide angle lens. It gives great photos - especially views, scenery and people. I've also used it at night on long exposure with great results.
It is excellent when you're "close-up" due to its wide field of view. This is what I bought it for and it does the job!
I got mine on offer in Currys - it was reduced as the display model and represented excellent value for money.
I am very satisfied with my purchase, but it does have limitations. It is slow to focus in low light. Some aspects of the build are cheap and plasticky - the cover for the USB port for example.
In spite of the shortcomings I am very satisfied with my purchase and cannot see a camera I would change it for.

This camera is almost a DSLR and, once I was used to handling it, I have been able to print off some absolutely great photos.
There are lots of choices and it has given me the opportunity to work things out for myself and put my own creativity to the test. If I need to take a shot quickly then I will resort to using the excellent scene modes but most of the time I prefer to make my own choices and see what results I get - that way I will learn quicker.
I think I will be experimenting with this one for some time yet - a very good buy.
