Kodak EasyShare V1273 Review
The Kodak EasyShare V1273 combines the power of 12.06 megapixels with 3x zoom lens with optical image stablisation to allow you to be closer to your subject and to produce excellent quality photographs, with the all glass Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens delivering precision and clarity. Blurriness is reduced which is caused by camera shake or action situations and the Kodak V1273 also has 5x digital zoom giving a total zoom range of 15x. The availability of 12.06 megapixels also means that high quality prints can be produced up to 76 x 102cm.
Focus modes are normal AF, macro AF and infinity AF with auto focus zones of multi-zone and centre zone. ISO sensitivity is auto/64/100/200/400/800/1600/3200/6400, white balance has auto, tungsten, daylight, open shade and fluorescent with flash modes of auto, off, fill and red-eye. The Kodak EasyShare V1273 has a selection of preset modes where appropriate settings have been preselected to suit certain scenes, these include portrait, landscape, night, snow, beach, flower, fireworks, sunset and children, panorama stitch is also included where up to three images can be joined as one. Colour modes offer high and low, black and white, natural and sepia.
Images can be viewed on the large 3" high resolution LCD with touch screen display which makes editing and organising easy. Images are stored on the 32MB internal memory or on SDHC/SD memory card using the expansion slot. Playback includes multi-up, slideshow, multi-media slideshow and single image and for video there is a selection of choices including play, fast forward and rewind, forward and rewind by frame, multi-up and slideshow. Video can be shot as QuickTime MPEG4 at 30fps in HDV, VGA and QVGA. HDV will give continuous up to 29 minutes and with VGA and QVGA, continuous up to 80 minutes. Prints can also be made from video footage. HD pictures can also be viewed on HDTV or alternate HD equipment using the optional EASYSHARE HDTV dock. Place your camera on the dock using an SD card, card reader or USB flash drive and display your photos as single images, multi-up or in slideshow format. Music and effects can be added.
The Kodak V1273 also houses up to date technology including; Smart Capture, automatic adjustment of settings, Intelligent Scene detection, analysing scene conditions, Intelligent Capture Control, automatically selecting exposure, focus and ISO, Intelligent Image Processing, giving true to life colours and eliminating dark shadows, Face Detection, finds faces and adjusts settings.
The optional EASYSHARE camera dock series 3 means that you can transfer your photographs by using the share button on the back of the camera, upload images onto your computer where they can be viewed, printed and emailed. The optional EASYSHARE G610 printer dock means that quality prints are a touch of a button away.
The Kodak EasyShare V1273 is powered by a KODAK Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery KLIC-7004 which is provided in the package together with USB charging adaptor and cable, carry strap, camera pouch, EASYSHARE software and custom camera insert for optional camera and printer docks. The camera weighs approximately 148g and measures 93.3 x 57.9 x 21mm.
