Kodak EasyShare Z730 Review

The Kodak EasyShare Z730 has many excellent features such as 5 megapixels, SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON 4x optical zoom lens, 4x advanced digital zoom with the result that your photographs will be crisp and bright even when taken from close-up.

There is a good range of both manual and custom controls in the EasyShare Z730 both allowing you free range for your creativity or setting the scene for you.

The 16 scene modes within the Z730 include; landscape (day and night), portrait (day and night), sports (without blurring), children (in action), self-portrait, snow, fireworks and beach. There is a mode to suit most situations where the camera will select relevant settings for you.

Colour modes are also available such as; sepia, black & white, high or low colour and natural colour.

The EasyShare Z730 also contains the exclusive KODAK Colour Science Image Processing chip to produce real colours in photographs shot under most lighting conditions.

Sharp images can be viewed on the 2.2" display both indoors and outdoors and because the EasyShare Z730 has automatic picture rotation, these can be viewed right way up.

Audio videos can be shot at 12fps (VGA) or at 20fps (QVGA) the length of which will be dependent upon the size of your memory card. These can be shared with the QUICKTIME video format.

The Kodak Z730 is in the KODAK EASYSHARE system and sharing can be done at the touch of a button. The KODAK EASYSHARE Software is included within the Z730 package which works well with the optional camera and printer docks to enable you to easily organise, print, view and edit from your computer.

Optional accessories to the Kodak EasyShare Z730 are the EASYSHARE cAMERA Dock Series 3 and the EASYSHARE Printer Dock Series 3.

The camera dock makes for easy transfer to a computer and will charge your battery.

The printer dock has the ability to print borderless prints with or without a computer, will transfer images and charge your battery.

I really wouldn't recommend buying this camera. Zooming in at night time gives a poor quality of image, you can never quite get the right amount of light, and lots of the colour is lost from the photos you take. More than half of the photos I have taken are blurry, even when you keep the camera completely still, and some of the features dont give any better quality than on auto mode. It is also quite irritating carrying it around ( as it is so big), especially if it is used for general use, to take photos of friends and family. Please take my advice and don't buy this camera.

Fantastic buy, I certainly got more features that I expected at the price. I am finding it easy to use but I do have some experience, would not necessarily recommend this one for an absolute beginner. Have printed off some great pictures from my computer and there doesn't seem to be any shutter lag, so you get what you see.

A convenient size camera at a very convenient price. Very pleased with this one. This camera powers up fast, is very easy to use and has a wide enough variety of modes to keep me going. Prints come off the computer clear and deailed whether taken in good light conditions or on the dark side. It has a good quality lens with fast focus and no perceptible shutter lag. I believe this is a buy you can't lose out on and have recommended it to others.

Great little camera.

I have not been at all disappointed with my 730 and have been surprised at the number of different options on offer for the price.

The large LCD is a bonus, there is no shutter lag and photos taken in all lighting conditions produce excellent results.

It is very easy to use and makes good movies.

The software makes downloading easy and I have some wonderful prints in my collection without having to try too hard.

Did a bit of research before buying and now having used it, can't actually find anything bad to say about this camera. It is small, lightweight, powers up fast and is easy to use. The LCD is a good size for viewing which makes it easier for me to select my images. This camera has high quality lens which actually has an automatic cover and you can buy extra lenses if you wish to add to your range. Certainly do not regret my choice, excellent value for money.
