Kodak EasyShare Z740 Review
This 5.0 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z740 can create superb quality prints up to 50 x 75 cm which can be cropped without loss of quality.The Color Science Image Processing Chip within the camera makes an advanced analysis of your chosen scene and, because it also operates at high speed, your colours remain true and fresh. This applies in any type of light, indoor or outdoor, as the scene light source is detected and necessary adjustments made.
The Z740 captures your shot in great detail by using Kodak Retinar Aspheric All Glass 10x Optical Zoom Lens. The 10x optical zoom brings you close to your subject and the 5x advanced digital zoom allows you to get even closer.
There are many modes available - continuous shooting, multiple scene and colour, manual and video all of which offer the opportunity to be creative and capture the unusual.
In the EasyShare Z740 there are two continuous shooting modes: first burst taking up to four frames at 2fps and last burst which takes up to 30 frames at 2fps.
The scene and colour modes include: portrait, children, party, sport, beach, flower, snow, fireworks, close-up, sepia and black and white to name but a few. These certainly offer a great opportunity to use your imagination in both colour and scene.
Within the Kodak Z740 manual modes you can choose the aperture and the camera will select the shutter speed, or if you choose the shutter speed the camera will pick the aperture. White balance and red-eye can also be controlled with the correct mode.
Up to 80 minutes continuous video with audio can be recorded (depending on size of memory card) or 5-, 15-, 30- second clips. There is a setting for VGA (640 x 480-pixel resolution) at 13fps or QVGA (320 x 240-pixel resolution) at 20fps, both with MPEG-4 compression.
Sharing your pictures is easy as the Z740 is part of the KODAK EASYSHARE system, just press the Share button on your camera once you have made your selection. Pictures can also be viewed using the Favorite mode, any time, any place.
The EASYSHARE software combines with EASYSHARE cameras and docks, which are optional accessories, to enable sharing and transferring.
Optional accessories include the Camera Dock Series 3 which uploads images to your computer. The Printer Dock Series 3 which can print with, or without, a computer giving borderless prints from mini to 10 x 15 cm in under two minutes. Both the Camera Dock and the Printer Dock will charge your batteries.

I purchased this camera due to the arrival of my first grandaughter.She is nearly one yaer old now and we have a lot of excellent photo's of her, taken with this superb,easy to use little camera.It does not matter,indoors, outdoors or in my lady's chamber the resulting photographs are excellent.

With the 5 megapixel and 10x zoom, thought I had maybe been a bit ambitious choosing the Z740. But, as the camera does a lot of the work itself, I am getting used to it fairly quickly. Some of my photographs were a bit off the mark but the more I get used to the camera the better results I am getting. The zoom is a real bonus as I am interested in birds and it means that I do not have to get too close and risk scaring them off.

One of the best cameras I have had, very easy to use and takes fantastic pictures. I have also taken a few black and white shots and these have been excellent, particularly on certain landscapes.
The zoom on the Z740 is a great plus and I have now also invested in the printer dock so I am self sufficent.

Good looking camera, reasonably priced. Have had great fun with the different scene modes and have created some quality prints. Was concerned that the lack of stabilisation would be a problem but once you have got used to the camera it is OK and the zoom is a great plus. Have now got some excellent shots of our children and their pets.
