The Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS with 8.2 megapixel and 12x zoom with optical image stabliser can work with all situations from fast action shots to landscape. The glass Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens will zoom in at speed with the image stabiliser producing clear shots when zooming at long range. The Kodak Z8612 IS also has 5x advanced digital zoom.

There are many on-camera features to help create the best photos possible and these include the grid line display, to help with composition, smart scene mode, to automatically select from five scene modes, High ISO mode, to achieve great detail in low light or fast action situations. There is also the Kodak Perfect Touch technology which will give you brighter photographs and eliminate dark shadows.

Videos can be taken with the Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS as continuous VGA video (640 x 480) at 30fps with sound, QVGA (320 x 24)) at 30fps. On-camera editing is available and single frames can be saved to be emailed on to others using the on-camera share button. Review choices include play, rewind, pause, forward and rewind by frame, make a picture and action print. Images can be stored on the 21MB internal memory or on SDHC/SD memory card and viewed on the 2.5" high resolution LCD. Still images can be played back as select all, tag, search, slideshow, multimedia slide show and multi-up. Select from pre-loaded sound themes to go with your slideshow.

The Kodak Z8612 IS has focus modes of normal AF, macro AF and infinity AF, ISO sensitivity of auto, 64/100/200/400/800/1600/3200, white balance including auto, daylight, tungsten and open shade and flash modes of auto, off, red-eye reduction and fill. ISO sensitivity from 80 to 1600 is automatically selected based on lighting conditions. Colour modes are high colour, natural, black and white, low and sepia and shooting modes include smart scene, video, scene, panorama and high ISO. There are a selection of preset scene modes where optimum settings have already been selected and these include landscape, portrait, night, fireworks, beach, snow, sunset, candlelight and flower.

Power is supplied by lithium digital camera battery CRV3, Li-Ion rechargeable battery KLIC-8000 or 2x AA lithium batteries and KODAK EASYSHARE camera/printer docks are an optional accessory. The Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS weighs approximately 290g and measures 104 x 65.6 x 70.5mm and comes with a CRV3 battery, USB cable, wrist strap, EASYSHARE software and custom camera insert for optional camera and printer docks.
