Nikon Coolpix 7900 Review
The Nikon Coolpix 7900 has a well designed metal body with a bright, clear 2.0 inch TFT LCD. It has instant start-up and its innovative features are easy to use and offer great versatility without loss of image quality.
With 7.1 megapixels and 3x optical zoom the 7900 can produce large prints up to A3 in size whilst the D-lighting function will add light to, and bring out detail, in the darker areas of your picture. The D-lighting function comes into play once your picture has been taken, it works instantly and you do not have to use a PC.
There are numerous scene modes incorporated within the Coolpix 7900 which will help you make the most of your chosen subject, these include a mode for taking shots underwater. Simply choose the appropriate mode and the camera will choose the best settings. Portrait mode also makes use of the D-lighting by concentrating on the face.
Red eye is also a thing of the past as Nikon's in camera exclusive Red-Eye Fix finds and removes all red eyes automatically.
The Coolpix 7900 can also produce high quality movies with sound.

For the time that I was able to use my Coolpix 7900, I found that it was easy to use and picture quality was good but it broke after just a few weeks.
I was very disappointed with the warranty service and have ended up throwing it in the bin.
Don't think I will be purchasing another Nikon

Before purchasing my Coolpix 7900 I owned an SLR and I have to say that the 7900 is a really good compromise between a compact camera and one that can be used one handed.
It feels good, is easy to use and has loads of features. I have taken quite a few pictures now and have been impressed with the quality. Even indoor shots have come out clearly.
So far I have only operated on auto but will now spend some time experimenting with the various scene modes - we are going on holiday soon so these should come in handy.

My Coolpix 7900 looks good, is comfortable to hold, is compact and easy to use. It also takes great quality colour pictures. I have found the optical view finder to be very good because normally in bright conditions it is not always easy to see what you are photographing. Also I have been impressed with the indoor shots, I take quite a few of these and, on the whole, have not taken a bad shot.

At first very pleased with the Coolpix 7900 which I had been given but after a while the mode dial broke off and it wasn't particularly easy to get it repaired. The dial is still loose but it is working. It is a shame really because this camera has many excellent features including producing very high quality pictures.
I will continue using it but will be looking out for a replacement.

I was lucky enough to have my Coolpix 7900 given to me as a present from my boyfriend.
It is a great camera to use and is small enough to fit into my handbag which means that I can always have it with me.
I am learning to use the many features available and have taken some quite good photographs so far - not the cameras fault if any were duff.
