This high performance Nikon Coolpix P80 is particularly suitable for those who are enthusiastic about their photography in that the Nikon P80 offers features which produce an up-to-the-minute performance. The Nikon Coolpix P80 has 10.1 megapixels and a digital image processing engine giving precise detail and natural colour. The Nikkor 18x zoom wide-angle lens has focal lengths from 27 - 486mm and vibration image stabilisation to ensure even sharper and clearer pictures. Digital zoom is 4x.

Images are stored on the internal memory of approximately 50MB or SD memory card. The Nikon Coolpix P80 has an electronic viewfinder which allows you to frame your pictures as you wish throughout the zoom range and a 2.7" TFT LCD with anti-reflection coating and wide viewing angle. Distortion reduction automatically corrects images which may be off-centre and effects can be checked using the LCD monitor.

The Nikon Coolpix P80 has many features which assist towards great photography and these include; Face-priority autofocus where the focus is on the face and not the background, D-Lighting which compensates for shadows, In-camera red-eye fix which elimates red-eye due to flash. The mode dial gives access to focus modes quickly and easily and has a full manual choice so that you can be creative and there is the EXPEED image processing system ensuring best quality and performance. The sport continuous shooting mode means that you can shoot up to 30 continuous shots at 13fps on H, 6fps on M or 4fps on L whilst the macro mode means that you can come as close as 1cm to your subject and still have a very clear image. ISO sensitivity ranges are 64/100/200/400/800/1600/2000/3200/6400 with the high ISO compensating for blurry images due to camera shake, low light conditions or moving subjects.

The Nikon P80 is powered by rechargeable Li-ion battery EN-EL5 which has a battery life of approximately 250 shots. This battery comes with the camera as does battery charger, USB and Audio Video cable and sofware CD-ROM. An AC adaptor EH-62A is available as an optional accessory. The camera weighs approximately 365g without battery or memory card and measures 110 x 79 x 78mm.
