Nikon Coolpix S9 Review

The Nikon Coolpix S9 is a stylish camera with a wave-surface design finish that produces pictures that are crystal clear in true to life colours.

Having 6.1 megapixel and 3x Zoom-Nikkor ED lens means that pictures, even when enlarged, will still be sharp. The one-touch portrait gives access to face-priority AF, in-camera red-eye fix and D-Lighting all of which contribute to the excellent results achievable.

Face-priority AF automatically focuses on faces giving realistic portraits, red-eye fix corrects any red-eye which may have occurred whilst using flash and D-Lighting improves brightness and detail where images have been underexposed. The Nikon Coolpix S9 also has 15 scene modes including preset choices from party portraits to fireworks.

The Nikon S9 is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery EN-EL8 which comes in the package together with a battery charger, MH-62. Internal memory is approximately 24MB and total recording time is dependent upon the size of the memory card. Movies can be shot with sound at 30fps and the Nikon Coolpix S9 features the Stop-motion movie function allowing you to create your own animations.

Composition and playback can be carried out using the 2.5" TFT LCD and the PictureProject software included in the package makes the importing, editing and organising of images much simpler. The X9 is PictBridge compatible which means that excellent prints can be produced without having to use a computer.
