Olympus FE-100 Review

The Olympus FE-100 has easy to use control buttons with there being a button for each function. It looks good, is lightweight and very easy to handle.

With 4 megapixels you can achieve precise, quality photos which can be viewed on the 3.8cm LCD.

The 2.8x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom in the Olympus FE-100 means that you can get close to your chosen subject without any loss of detail, whilst the Super Macro technology within the camera will allow you to move in even closer, to 2cm.

In order to select the correct exposure for your scene there are four scene modes to chose from; Landscape, Portrait, Self Portrait and Night Scene, giving a good range of cover for beginners.

The FE-100 has an internal memory of 28MB and movie recordings can also be made. Recording time will be according to the size of the memory card.

The FE-100 uses AA batteries and is PictBridge compatible.

My parents bought me my FE-100 and it is the first digital camera that I have owned. They thought that as I was a beginner it was a good camera to learn on as it had a good spec for the price. They feel that once I have had some experience then I can get a more expensive camera.

I am finding it easy to use and I can carry it around with me cause it is so small.

I have taken some very good photographs with it and would agree with Mum and Dad that is a good choice for a first time user.

As I am not very technically minded, I needed a camera that would be simple to use so I chose the FE-100 and it was a good choice for me.

I did wonder if it might be a bit small for me as I might have difficulty with the buttons but that is not the case because the layout is very easy to master.

Photo quality is very good and, in particular, I have taken some very good close up shots.

Good quality, simple digital camera.

Not quite sure about the look of the fe-100 it is a bit lumpy, having said that it is good to hold and does take good photos for the price, but don't expect miracles.

An excellent beginners digital camera at a reasonable price. Simple to use with easy button control, produces excellent pictures especially close up and also has enough scene modes to start with. A good camera to pop in your pocket.
