Olympus µ [mju:] 725 SW Review

The Olympus µ [mju:] 725 SW is a durable, stylish camera with a metal body available in three striking colours; titanium grey, cherry red and deep blue.

The Olympus [mju:] 725 SW is shockproof (from a height of up to 1.5m) and waterproof to a depth of 5m and is able to cope with the most stringent conditions.

There are 7.1 effective megapixels, 3x optical zoom and digital zoom of 5x, the combination of which results in excellent image quality. The Olympus µ [mju:] 725 SW also has the additional BrightCapture technology to ensure that great results are achieved even in low light conditions.

There are 25 scene modes to choose from in the [mju:] 725 SW where preselected settings have been made to suit relevant situations. These include; portrait, landscape, night, sports, sunset, fireworks, indoor, candle, beach and underwater x4 together with movie mode. Still images are recorded on JPEG/EXIF/PIM/DPS/DPOF with movies with sound being recorded on QuickTime Motion JPEG (640 x 480, 320 x 240 and 160 x 120 all at 15fps).

Images and Movies can be viewed on the large 2.5" LCD. Viewing of images has a choice of; calendar, index, album, slide show, rotation, zoom with movies frame by frame, as fast forward or reverse playback. The Olympus 725 SW has an internal memory of 19 MB with total memory dependent upon capacity of memory card.

The µ [mju:] 725 SW has ISO sensitivity of auto or manual (80/100/200/400/800/1600), White Balance of sunlight, overcast, tungsten and flourescent x3 and an internal flash with auto, fill in, red-eye reduction and off modes. Image blur is counteracted by using the high ISO setting.

The camera is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and a charger is included within the package.
