Olympus SP-570 UltraZoom Review

The Olympus SP-570 UltraZoom has 10 megapixels and can shoot high-action situations at 13.5 frames per second when in 3 megapixel mode, 20x optical and 5x digital zoom also making it a very versatile camera. 20x optical wide zoom not only peforms in close conditions but also shoots spectacular scenes and the optimum zoom ratio can be chosen using the manual zoom ring.

To assist with attaining the best possible images there is a choice of 23 scene modes where settings have been preselected to best suit particular situations and these include; portrait, landscape, night, sunset, beach, snow, fireworks, sports and candle.

The Olympus SP-570 UltraZoom has ISo equivalent of 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400 (when using reduced pixels), internal flash including auto, red-eye reduction, slow sync, flash compensation and red-eye reduction plus fill-in and White Balance in auto, flourescents, tungsten, sunlight and overcast.

Images can be viewed on the 2.7" hypercrystal LCD which can be viewed even in bright sunlight and image editing features include; black and white, resize, sepia, trimming, attaching title, frame, calendar or layout with correction of brightness, saturation and colour balance. Images can be viewed as a slide show, in rotation, calendar, album, index and zoom with movie modes of frame by frame, reverse playback, fast forward and voice playback.

The SP-570 UltraZoom is ideal for facial shots as it has Face Detection which will automatically ensure correct focus and exposure in respect of faces within your picture. Other special features include the Shadow Adjustment Technology that will brighten up shadowy areas within your frame and BrightCapture technology which gives a better performance when shooting in low light conditions and Dual Image Stabilisation to eliminate blurring.

Dimensions of the Olympus SP-570 UltraZoom are 118.5 x 84 x 87.5 mm and its weight, without battery and memory card, is 445g.
