Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 Review
The slim and compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 houses 6 megapixel CCD and has a 28mm wide angle LEICA DC Vario-Elmarit lens with 3.6 optical zoom. This wide angle lens allows shots to be taken of large groups, buildings and landscapes and produces images of high quality precision and sharpness.
Having a fast start up time of 1.6 seconds allows you to capture approximately 100% of the shots you want and because of the Venus Engine Plus LSI which is included within the Panasonic DMC-FX01, 320 pictures can be taken on just one charge. The Lumix FX01 also has Mega OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) which means that blurred images should be a thing of the past as shaky hands are compensated for.
Quality movies can be shot in wide-aspect VGA at 30 fps and can be viewed via a widescreen television.
In order to achieve best results, auto-focus methods can be chosen relative to the position and the environment around the subject matter. The AF quick response time gives both speed and precision with an AF assist lamp giving help in low light situations.
Included amongst the scene modes in the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 are night, self-portrait, portrait, food, candle, snow, underwater and fireworks where selections are preset to suit the relevant situation. Colour modes include warm, black and white, sepia and cool.
The DMC-FX01 has an ISO sensitivity range of Auto/80/100/200/400 (High Sensitivity Mode 800 - 1600) and White balance including daylight, auto, cloudy, white set and halogen.
Images can be viewed on the high resolution 2.5" LCD which has a high angle mode. The readout method employed by the CCD automatically increases brightness of subject which is useful in low light conditions.
