Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 Review
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 is slim and stylish and weighs approximately 222g increasing to 247g including battery and memory card. It is only l05W x 59.2H x 36.7mm but this small sized camera holds an abundance of technological features including 6 megapixels.The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 is a member of the Lumix TZ family and contains a 10x optical zoom. The Leico DC Vario-Elmar lens (28mm wide angle) consists of 11 elements in 9 groups including an ED lens and 3 aspherical lenses thus delivering a superb optical performance. By utilising the Extra Optical Zoom the zoom ratio can be increased to 13.8x in 3MP mode and when combined with the 4x digital zoom, 55x is achievable. The wide angle lens makes it easier to successfully capture larger groups of people,landscapes and buildings.
The Panasonic DMC-TZ2 has an auto focus system, normal/macro (dial) and continuous AF on/off. It has an AF Assist Lamp and ISO sensitivity equivalents are auto/100/200/400/800/1250 with High Sensitivity mode:3200. White Balance selections are auto. daylight, shade, halogen, daylight, white set, WB adjustment.
Shutter speed is 8-1/2000 sec and the Lumix DMC-TZ2 has a wide selection of special preset scene modes which include: portrait, scenery, fireworks, beach, snow, baby, underwater, pet, sunset and portrait. Images are recorded as JPEG (Design rule for camera file system based on Exif 2.21), JPEG plus QuickTimeMotion.
The Lumix DMC-TZ2 has a built in flash with auto, auto/red-eye reduction, forced on/off, slow sync with red-eye. Images can be viewed on the 2.5" TFT LCD display which has approximately 100% field of view and can be played back in different formats such as 9/25 thumbnail displays, calendar, slide show, zoom and image rotation.
Powered by a Li-ion battery pack the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 has a built in memory and uses SD, SDHC and MultiMedia memory cards. Battery life is approximately 300 pictures/ The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 is PictBridge compatible and has DC input, AV output (NTSC/PAL) and USB.
Software included within the package is a LUMIX simple viewer, PhotofunStudio-viewer-ArcSoft and USB driver. Optional accessories include a battery charger, pack and carrying case, AV cable, USB connection cable, AC cable, strap and a CD rom.
