I have had the camera less than a year. I was expecting the picture quality to be a little better being 8 mega pixels but I suppose I should have listened to the experts who say that more mega pixels does not equal better images.
It stopped focussing so I sent it to Pentax who have had it for a month, when I called them they told me it had sand inside and so was not covered under warranty and would cost £106 to fix (apparently they had sent me a quote but I never received it). Fair enough, but I had my old Toshiba digi cam for ages and it was subjected to much more harsh environments than the A10 ever has been and the Toshiba works as good today as the day it was bought. How did sand get into the A10, it only comes out of my pocket for a quick snap then straight back?
I aint paying £106 to have it fixed when I can buy a new camera which gives better image quality for about that cost.
I am sure they could have removed the sand and sent it back to me, it must have had a couple of grains at the most. Time for another brand I think.

My old camera gave up the ghost during our holiday so we bought the Pentax without having done a great deal of research. We have been impressed with the results, good colour and sharpness (which is helped by the anti shake) and relatively easy to get to know your way around. The double flash took a bit of getting used to and I guess you could miss the actual shot you wanted as the picture is taken on the second flash, hasn't happened to us yet but it might do if the grandchildren were around.
This is a good little camera to take around with you.

Hubby bought me my camera for my birthday and although I don't have a lot of experience with digital cameras I found this one fairly easy to use straight away.
Not having a viewfinder was a bit strange but I soon got used to the LCD, although I would suggest that this should have a non-reflective coating in future as it is sometimes difficult to see in bright light.
Small and lightweight, it is not a problem to take around in my handbag - lots of features to learn about.

I have had some good comments from friends about the look of this camera and because of its size you can take it anywhere with you. Also, being small in size doesn't mean that it has less features either.
Some great pictures have been taken and the only comment I would make is that I would have hoped that the battery life would have been longer. From what I have been told it would seem that nowadays it falls short of other similar cameras.

No viewfinder but the 2.5" LCD makes up for this and pictures are very clear with good colour reproduction.
I have been very impressed with the quality of the movies I have taken, best results from the cameras I have used so far. Being small and light it is just so easy to carry around and I have been surprised at some of the great results I have had from 'on the spur of the moment' shots.
Would recommend this model, particular if you travel around a great deal.
