Samsung Digimax A503 Review
The Samsung Digimax A503 with 5 megapixels and 5x digital zoom has been designed with simplicity in mind both in style and ease of use.
This compact camera allows function and setting buttons to be used single handedly and there are various scene modes to choose from where settings are preselected. These include portrait, landscape, children, night, sunset and dawns, fireworks, snow and beach.
The Samsung Digimax A503 also includes some special effects for you to experiment with such as colour effect, highlight, photo frame and composite shooting. Amongst the colour effect choices are black and White, negative, sepia or red, green or blue. The highlight choice allows you to bring your subject into relief by blurring the background whilst photo-frame offers nine different frames to choose from.
This camera has easy zoom and macro shots as close as 20cm can be taken with the aid of a distance dial.
True to life colour reproduction can be achieved using the Digimax A503 as it has a choice of white balance functions such as cloudy, fluorescent, daylight and tungsten
On the reverse of the Samsung A503 there is a large 2" TFT LCD which allows you to frame and view your photographs with ease.
There is a convenient button on the Samsung Digimax A503 which allows instant access to photo-taking and video functions and this is known as the 'M' button. MJPEG format Videos can be shot with the Digimax A503 at 24fps and played back on a TV without any loss of image quality. A 512MB memory card will allow for 42 minutes of video recording. There are also certain movie editing functions available.
The Samsung Digimax A503 is PictBridge compatible so that pictures can be printed quickly and easily.

The Camera is nice and light in weight and looks good but I find the functions are not straight forward for what you would like to do. The battery's are a nightmare I stuck Duracells and you can do very few pictures before it dies. I wished the retailer or Samsung would state clearly buy rechargable battery's or battery's die very quickly. Still it's a nice neat compact camera.

This is my first digital camera and I chose it because of the price (not a lot of cash to spare) and because it looked easy to use. It is a great camera, clear pics and good colour.

Bought this for my god-daughter because it looked easy enough for her to understand and use.
She loves it and enjoys taking pictures for her 'auntie's' scrapbook.
