Samsung Digimax i6 PMP Review

The Samsung Digimax i6 PMP is a digital camera that can create a slide show with pictures and sound. The MP3 function allows you to not only have your camera with you but your music also. In addition you can also use the Personal Media Player (PMP) built into this camera to view videos recorded from any source in MPEG4 format, this is one of the first cameras ever to include this feature.

With 6 megapixels and a total of 15x zoom this stylish camera will ensure excellent image results both in precision and colour. Images of text can also be shot in addition to normal photographs.

Images can be viewed on the clear, high resolution 2.5" LCD screen even in bright conditions due to the coating on the screen which reduces light reflection.

As well as the text option there are eleven scene modes to choose from within the Digimax i6 PMP. These preset modes include; portrait, landscape, dawn, night, children, snow, beach and fireworks. There are also four special effect functions available; photo frame, colour, highlight and composite.

The Samsung i6 PMP has ASR (advanced shake reduction) technology to ensure that images taken under flash conditions do not suffer any reduction in quality and that camera shake is compensated for. With this technology, brighter and more true to life pictures are achievable.

Red-eye fix is also a function that can be selected and this will automatically eliminate red-eye and produce a natural looking portrait.

The Samsung Digimax i6 PMP supports MPEG-4 in the shooting of movies and this together with the stabiliser function enhances the quality of your movie. The Digimax i6 PMP also has a built-in movie editing function which allows movies to be edited within the camera.

The Samsung Digimax i6 PMP is PictBridge compatible.

I bought this camera one year ago and it was very amazing. I love the quality of the pictures. Now when I take pictures outside they are all washed out (too light) and sometimes have lines through them. The inside flash pics seem fine. I have checked the white balance and even reset the camera several times to no avial. I have seen other reports of the same problem on the web. I spent far too much to have it fail in one year.

This camera, in my book is worth every penny even without the Mp3 and PMP additions. The picture quality is excellent for such a small camera as is the build quality. It is small enough to take almost anywhere in a pocket. Spare batteries seem to be very reasonably priced considering they are a special. The mp3 and PMP functions work very well and the supplied headphones were of good quality also.

All round this camera sems to me to be an excellent one for the relatively small price tag.

This is a great camera in itself but the addition of MP3 and PMP makes it something special.

Height of technology and a pleasure to watch.
