Samsung NV15 Review

Elegant and simple in design, the Samsung NV15 has 10.1 megapixel Schneider Kreuznach lens, 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. The inclusion of the Schneider Kreuznach lenses ensures crystal clear images and more natural colouring as the surface has been multi coated.

The technology built into the Samsung NV15 includes; Auto Contrast Balance (ACB) which automatically compensates for the brightness of objects, Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) that compensates for any deterioration caused by using flash and which will also allow you to take pictures in low-light conditions without the use of flash, Face Recognition AF & AE, this feature can detect up to nine faces within your shot and will automatically adjust focus and brightness to correct levels for optimum results.

There is also a red-eye fix on the camera which will automatically remove red-eye whilst shots are being taken, or red-eye can be removed during playback.

Still images are recorded as JPEG (DCF), Exif 2.21, DPOF 1.1 and movies as AVI (MPEG-4), WAV and can be stored on the 20MB internal memory or on SD/SDHC/MMC Plus memory card. TV quality movies can be shot, with or without sound, and can be edited on camera. The Samsung NV15 has 2.5" TFT LCD monitor and playback features include; thumbnails, single image, slide show and movie and images can be trimmed, resized, rotated with effects of black & white, sepia, red/green/blue, negative, composite, photo frame, GIF animation and custom.

The Samsung NV15 ISO sensitivity equivalents are; auto, 80/100/200/400/800/1600/3200, White Balance has auto, cloudy, daylight, fluorescents, tungsten and custom and there is a pop-up flash with modes of auto, auto & red-eye reduction, fill-in flash, slow sync, flash off and red-eye fix. There are also special scene modes to choose from where selections are already been preselected to suit certain situations, these include; landscape, portrait, night, children, sunset, dawn, beach & snow, fireworks, close-up and text.

A rechargeable 3.7V Li-ion battery powers the Samsung NV15 and the Smart Touch features makes this a very easy camera to operate as this touch sensitive system makes access so easy.
