Sony DSC-G1 Cybershot Review

The Sony Cybershot DSC-G1 is slim and stylish with 6 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, 6x digital zoom, has an MP3 player as part of the package and is easy to operate.

Carl-Zeiss Vario-tessar lens are used in the Sony DSC-G1 which also has a Real Imaging Processor giving improved picture quality together with high speed operation.

A rechargeable lithium N NP-FR1 supplies a battery life of approximately 280 shots or 140 minutes and images can be stored on the internal memory of 2GB. In addition pictures can be recorded on memory stick duo, stick PRO duo, memory stick PRO duo high speed, and memory stick PRO-HG duo. Images are recorded as JPEG, MPEG4, DCF, DPOF and can be viewed on the 3.5" Xtra fine LCD screen with approximately 100% field of view. Movies can be shot as MPEG4 (VGA 30fps movie mode with audio).

The Cybershot DSC-G1 has a hand shake alert and double anti blur technology combines super steadshot and ISO 1000 high sensitivity. ISO sensitivity equivalents are auto, 80/100/200/400/800/1000 and White Balance ranges are auto, cloudy, fluorescent, daylight, flash and incandescent. Flash modes are auto, forced flash, slow syncro, red-eye reduction and no-flash. The Sony Cybershot DSC-G1 offers various scene selections where settings have been predetermined to suit certain situations and these include; twilight, landscape, portrait, beach, fireworks, snow and soft snap.

Images can be played back as slideshow or slideshow with music, image rotation, album, zoom and the Sony DSC-G1 is PictBridge compatible. With Image Management, images can be automatically arranged into albums, Picture Gift function allows for wireless sharing of images with another Sony DSC-G1 and images can also be played back via a widescreen television.
