Sony DSC-S500 Cybershot Review
The Sony DSC-S500 Cybershot with 6 megapixel Super HAD CCD, 3x optical zoom, 6x precision digital zoom (up to 13x smart zoom with VGA) is an excellent 'point and shoot' digital camera.
ISO sensitivity range is auto/80/100/200/400, White Balance has auto, daylight, incandescent, fluorescent and cloudy and flash ranges are auto, forced flash, slow synchro and red-eye reduction.
The Sony DSC-S500 Cybershot has a selection of scene modes where settings have been preselected to suit certain situations such as; landscape, beach, twilight, candle and twilight portrait.
The Sony S500 has an internal memory of 25MB, uses Memory Stick Duo/Pro and stores images as JPEG/AVI with movies being taken at 8.3fps, 320x240, MPEG Presentation. The S500 has a 2.4" bright TFT LCD screen with an approximate field of view of 94% and images can be played back as sideshow with 5x zoom and can be resized.
2x AA alkaline batteries are supplied with the DSC-S500 Cybershot which produce a stamina battery life of 30 mins / 60 shots (measured standard).
The Sony DSC-S500 Cybershot is PictBridge compatible to allow direct connection to a printer and includes indicators showing battery remaining and disk/memory stick availability.
